Nipple reduction, also known as nipple reshaping or nipple correction, is a surgical procedure performed to alter the size, shape, or projection of the nipple and areola complex. It is typically done for cosmetic reasons to address concerns about nipple size or proportion. During a nipple reduction procedure, small incisions around the base of the nipple or within the areola are made, the excess tissue is then removed, and the remaining tissue is reshaped and sutured to achieve the desired nipple size and shape. The incisions are then closed with dissolvable sutures. Nipple reduction is often performed as a standalone procedure but can also be combined with other breast surgeries, such as breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction to achieve the desired outcome.
