“Baby Boomers” are looking for a more youthful appearance without the downtime of surgery. This is accomplished in a plastic surgeon’s office with simple, affordable treatments to give a younger, more rested appearance in just a few minutes.
Botox® and Dysport® injections, the most popular physician administered procedure in the US, are used to temporarily improve the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes, forehead, and between the brows. Its effect generally lasts four to six months. The physician can also inject Botox in the upper lip for a gummy smile reduction and under the arms to decrease severe sweating, with great results.
Fillers, such as Restylane®, Restylane® Lyft, Juvéderm®, Juvéderm Voluma® XC and Radiesse® are used to smooth wrinkles by adding volume. Restylane and Juvéderm are gels, made from hyaluronic acid, a natural sugar that binds to water. Restylane Lyft is also a hyaluronic acid filler which can give more volume and lifting power than Restylane for moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles. These fillers correct the hollowness under the eyes and plump the lips. Results last between six to 12 months. Juvéderm Voluma XC is an injectable gel that is the first and only FDA-approved filler to instantly add volume to the cheek area. Radiesse, a thicker filler, is made from tiny calcium particles in a viscous solution and works well for the smile lines, cheeks and jowls, lasting up to 18 months. Radiesse is also used at our institute for a non-surgical rhinoplasty (nose-job) and chin augmentation.
